மாப்பிள்ளை பெண் இருவரும் விரதம் செய்து, கையில் ரக்ஷா பந்தனம் செய்துகொள்கிறார்கள். கைகள் புனிதமாகி இருவரும் விவாதச் சடங்குகள். ஹோமம், சப்தபதி முதலியன செய்யத் தகுதி அடைகின்றன. இந்தப் புனிதத்வத்தைக் கெடுத்து எல்லாரும் வந்து பெண், மாப்பிள்ளை இருவரும் சடங்குகள் முடியும் முன் கைகுலுக்குகிறார்கள். கைகள் சுத்தம் இழக்கின்றன. ஆகையால் விவாஹச் சடங்கு, சப்தபதி முடியும் முன் யாரும் தம்பதிகளைக் கை குலுக்கக் கூடாது. இதைப் பத்திரிகைகளில் (NB) என்று போட்டுக் குறிப்பிட்டுவிட்டால். விவாஹத்திற்கு வருபவர்கள் தக்கபடி நடந்துகொள்வார்கள்.

others before completion of all these recitals, their hands become impure and will not have any effect on performing these
recitals. So, before completion of
Saptapathi, no one should touch their hand and allow them to perform &
complete their recitals.
